Tend to your Garden

Today I was assisting a client in sloughing off the old and embracing the possible. I was reminded that we live with the fruits of the old seeds. The seeds that have been planted for us come from outside ourselves. It could be our culture, religion and gender roles. We have been planted as oranges, but desire to be apples or something other than oranges. We know we want something else.
In order for us to grow apples, we need to change the roots. We need to dig up our beliefs, our habitual opinions and replant. Looking at the fruits of our lives and understanding that we got this result from our thoughts, words and actions, we see that in order to change what we see, we need to take inventory. We simply need to change what’s inside us.
What I have learned from the fruits of life, is that changing how I think, feel and the actions I take, change the result. Awareness is the first step towards getting to the root. Sometimes the change isn’t what I’m wanting. I weed out the belief that is creating that particular fruit. After that, I plant another belief, something that aligns more with my preference. Today, take an honest look at your life. Is it what you want? If it isn’t take an IN-ventory of your thoughts and beliefs. Take a look at the actions you take or don’t take.
Decide to make a small change. Plant a seed. Nourish the soil. Nourishing your thoughts with positive focus. Using words that are in alignment with what you want and taking action.
See what kind of fruit you yield. Play, enjoy. This is your garden, your orchard of life. Plant the seeds that delight you. Anticipate new fruits. Live a ripe and juicy life.
